St. Louis Regional Chamber’s Public Affairs Network Meeting

Dr. Alice Prince, Executive Director for the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE), will meet with St. Louis Regional Public Affairs Network members to discuss regional workforce needs.
As a division manager for SLATE, Prince was involved in Workforce High School, which gives young people seeking to complete their high school diploma 24-hour-a-day access to educational services. She was also SLATE’s liaison to the St. Louis Workforce Development Board’s YouthBuild Committee, which oversaw the YouthBuild program and the Youth Council, which develops strategies to address workforce issues facing the City’s youth population.
Dr. Prince is a native of St. Louis. She holds a B.S. from Saint Louis University where she received her Bachelor of Science; an MA from Webster University in St. Louis, in Communication Management; and a doctorate in Educational Leadership. Her doctoral work centered around the impact of teacher bullying on student success.
SLATE is a city agency that helps workers improve skills and find jobs. With a fiscal 2018 budget of $4.2 million, it administers the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), a federal program designed to aid in the employment and training of unemployed and underemployed adults, dislocated workers and youth.
