Gateway to Degrees: Financial Aid for Adult Learners

Gateway to Degrees is an initiative of the St. Louis Regional Chamber aimed at increasing adult degree attainment in the St. Louis region. Through collaboration and partnerships with St. Louis businesses and higher education institutions, Gateway to Degrees aims to connect adults with the support and resources that will help them get back to — and through college.

We have partnered with the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis to help attendees learn about Federal and State Financial Aid from the adult learners’ perspective. The emphasis of this workshop will be an entry-level description of the financial aid process for adults, and the financial aid options available for adults. The workshop will provide an overview of common mistakes/misconceptions about paying for school, common terms to be aware of, and how to begin thinking about scholarships.
